Tall order
A friend posted this on Facebook. I’m standing by this tall order.
“The allotted function of art is not, as is often assumed, to put across ideas, to propagate thoughts, to serve as an example. The aim of art is to prepare a person for death, to plough and harrow his soul, rendering it capable of turning to good”. – Tarkovsky
Now time for a movie.

Day 17: Austin, TX
Austin was a mind blower! Definitely a best show contender. Audience and band energy was really high tonight; outdoor stage was great despite earlier rains, sound was awesome, lights were moody… Met some very cool people who took us out for a drink afterwards. Can’t say enough good about this show. Thank you Austin.
Also, mention for the band we met (The Rocketboys) who did an after show set inside Stubbs – great sound and songs- check em out.

Day Four: Boulder, CO
Tonight, originally uploaded by Rich in Orderly Manor.
Boulder is a great little town. I feel at home here – it’s like a very large Nevada City with more upscale trinket shops and the best vintage store this side of the rockies. Speaking of which, Mars’ pals took us up in to the mountains for a quick sunset view of the Continental Divide. Good to get some real fresh air for a minute…
Tonight’s show was great for all concerned; we had a blast, the audience was ready to let loose, APOF seemed to enjoy themselves and even the Mondays had a good time despite blowing something up on stage and leaving with half their amps out of commission. No Easy Street was right-on for me tonight… Met some good people out back and left town about 2am, headed for Utah. I will say that there was experimentation with hot sauce and hummus as we left town. I’m not naming any names.

Day Three: the long haul
Man & Machine, originally uploaded by Rich in Orderly Manor.
Back in the west! We’re in Boulder after a long long long nights/day drive from Milwaukee. Our driver Darren was at the wheel for something like 17 hours. Obviously he’s out of his mind. Actually i think we all were by the end of it. Zarr (our tech for this trip) in particular.
I think i want to try driving the bus sometime – Tim said that Richard gave it a go once. I’ll have to find a quiet day with a parking lot.
Boulder: So far I’ve seen my room, an Indian restaurant and bumped into Shaun at the hotel. I’m taking the night off…
Found this clip today – cool little vid i thought.
