Here’s a little thing we did for Marc’s new label compilation now available for a spin on mySpace – click ‘What’s in Mind’. I think this was the first of two takes we did at Brighton sound on the 7th of October. Hope it suits your day. We’re trying to get the other few tunes we recorded that day into mp3s so you can get down with them too.

Jo’s new record came out today. its beautiful thing to hear. She puts us all to shame. in the best possible way. and the cover’s not bad too. Been doing a lot of design work for musical friends etc recently – but this one was about as intense as you can get. Jo and i spent many a June night working this to its decadent perfection. Beers, scanning, cutting and placing. It must be said that Ben’s painting is pretty astonishing.

We just had a hot time on Saturday in foggy SF at the Hotel Utah. People dance in SF these days – its a whole new scene. The live debut of the ‘piglet’ (or whatever its called) song occurred too. David and Jonathan ate character food. Genaro came down and brother James took these pics. ok, more later on all this stuff. detail detail.

Last night i saw Keith Richards in person. Too much.

I’m backed up on this aren’t i? It’s been weeks since these things happened. Is that bad blogiquette? Anyway, 19th October we ran down to KDVS with a car full of equipment and good feelings. Met up with the incredible Matt Gottschalk who delivered these fine photographs. woooa. There was a nice vibe in there that night, all sound proofed and low lit. I was rather happy with the songs we played; debuted the new one by the skin of our teeth and i like that… playing by the skin of your teeth is the way. Sadly, the recording they gave us was awful so no postings here. Must’ve been a dry mix before the board or something but it was all over the place… no matter, we still have the new one sitting on tape at Dana’s place. Come to think of it, that version is also compromised because the tape ran out half way through; so due to time constraints we just picked it up on the next reel and intended to stitch it together. Will get round to it. Round round like a record baby. Here’s photographs that look like it sounded…
