1: New Orleans

So New Orleans. I love saying it how it sounds to me cause let’s face it, a british accent saying Nawlins sounds stupid. So forgive me my pronunciation, locals, i do love your city very much. The last few days i got to know you a little better and I’m putting my vote in for drinks/jukebox at the Chart Room and coffee at Royal Brew… There you have it. Oh, and that record store in the garden district… the one with just about anything you could ever dream up?, yea, that one. And that taco place near it… hmm.. i forget the name. Anyway, yea, thunderstorms, that big ole river, probably not enough sleep, some funk at DBA, natural popsicles, friendliest peoples (except for one asshole at Muriels) and on and etc… its a great town as long as you can vomit-dodge the utter disaster that is Bourbon st.

The House of Blues here is pretty nice even with a very long sound-check fraught with technical issues and delays… enough to test the patience of a saint, which fortunately this outfit is comprised solely of. My new pedals are working out great all except that darn compressor. I believe I’m just not cut out for compression… so the ole Tube Screamer may be making a return. The show was very satisfying beginning to this leg of the TTT tour. People here are rather keen to enjoy themselves and that’s what we did… Followed by a momentarily alarming drunken-fur-mania moment in the cab on the way out. I believe people here are supposed to be able to handle their sauce right?
