I met some nice fans outside the bus tonight and someone asked “Can you explain the thinking behind not doing Shock?”. I presented the usual line that we can’t do every song; if we do Shock you lose Heaven and then people will ask why we don’t do Heaven etc… To which he replied “But Shock is the name of the album!” I honestly don’t think he believed me when i tried to explain that that album was called Midnight to Midnight.

Speaking of shocks, tonight was amazing because i got to experience playing Furs songs with two guitars and my axe partner was mr Richard Fortus. He’s an unbelieveable player and it was truly one of the most fun shows I’ve done… Heartbreak Beat which is usually the most technically challenging to pull off became simple! Trading licks on Mr Jones, huge chorus on Believe, thrashing through India – it doesn’t get much better. Or louder. RF is a gentleman and this goes in the book of favourite shows.
