DAY1. grabbing a tiny moment
things have started. the last couple of days have been a little fuller than anticipated and there’s no way i can get it all in this post with any accuracy that would do all the events justice. so here’s the bullet point version that i’ll likely find a way of never updating:
Sunday – running around extracting drums from the dark depths of Mark’s barn, working, doing a 1/2 hour cover design for Art’s band, eating stolen foods etc… descending fro mthe foothills to the Sacramento metropolis for listen back with dana and meet up with Neal late. Air mattress. Night trying to sleep while re-writing every song in my head.

Monday – a child popping wheelies around the house on a small motorcycle wakes us at an unfairly ealry hour. at least it seemed that way. Andi has to disappear back to Nevada City for work toment. Green chile burrito for breakfast and popcorn. the day consists of 3 1/2 songs: Scorched sea, King’s Theme, Coming apart and Desert Heights which we decide to leave in its original shakey but snakey form. Neal rocks with such sensitivity to the music that it makes you want to release a record of him drumming to scratch tracks. after working in a buble for so long its truly a pleasure to have other hands to make things better. and better…
we pack up early and let dana prepare for the upcoming night night show. This leaves us time to grab food with Ski, Si, Jona Yacht, Eric Rock and Rob (of birdman). There’s a place in Sacramento where all they have is fake meat. that’s where we were. it’s rather good.

The rest of the night dissolves into ahaze of tiredness punctuated by stellar performance by Dana’s Night Night and the Brozone dudes. there was some frightening avante noise stuff before but the cavernous gallery venue just made it impossible to truly appreciate. I love the visuals these guys do. return late late for a listen to Fair Warning before fading out into laptops and ginger teas.
I need MORE INFO. Gritty details please. And put that movie of Neal up, if you have sound to it. YEAH.
