Day Seven: Seattle, WA

Jimi’s diary, originally uploaded by Rich in Orderly Manor.

Couldn’t find coffee in the morning. This is Seattle right? Of course i did find coffee but i thought it’d be pretty much piped into my brain on waking; not a half hour of wandering getting increasingly loopy and frustrated. Perhaps i chose the wrong pillow in the hotel – there’s a choice of soft or hard labeled on the bed.

Went to the Experience Music Project, with Rob’s friend Christina, after checking out the Space needle and doing another below-par sketch. My plan to sketch every day is not exactly going to… plan.

Anyway, it was cool to see Jimi’s Woodstock guitar and the shards of the Monterey strat that i watched get splintered so many times as a teenager. But the best thing was the diary – it seems all musicians are the same when it comes down to it. My Seattle show was similar to his Hartford show… Beautiful venue and people though!

A lot of people died today: Swayze, Floyd(!), Jim Carroll.

And what about that Federer /Del Porto match?

I saw this on a billboard here:
In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life. It goes on.
Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
