Day Five: Lisbon, Portugal

Lisbon, Portugal, originally uploaded by Rich in Orderly Manor.

Watery eggs and great coffee for breakfast. Spent the day wandering the city center looking for gifts, clothes, roosters etc… not that fruitful but the sights were amazing. This has to be one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Windy lanes, cobblestone streets, castles, cafés, chestnuts, tile everywhere, red roofs, olive trees, bright blue sky, sparkling river, and on and on. I almost buy a zillion pairs of shoes but decide to wait til tomorrow for final purchase. The white shoes need backup! Mars and I get coffee near the castle and decide its a good place to return to for a real vacation. Or perhaps just to move here and start anew with that southern European laid back existence.

Another night by the harbour under the screaming bridge. Good food with the band and a drink with Tim and Tricia later. We talk songwriting and enjoy the local one man band covering Shine on You Crazy Diamond. Jesus is lit up across the river.

Brief internet fix in the lobby before passing out. Exhausted.
