Day 13: San Diego

21. September 2009 Touring 0

The last time i was in San Diego proper I believe I was 7 years old and the family Good went to see Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan” here. I can’t really remember the town but it seems pretty nice from the 15 minutes we had strolling today. There was the huge US Midway sitting in the harbour, some sort of warship battle going on out in the bay, and a stream of people on Segways. I just can’t take them seriously since Arrested Development. Aside from that its a pretty  quiet Sunday around the House of Blues… Jonny Mondays is a SD native and directs Andi and I to sample some good vegetarian mexican food at Pokez. It’s good and the service is bad and heavily tattooed. Pretty cool place.

The dressing rooms are pretty dire here but the friendly staff and constantly burning incense help us rise above it in a completely professional way. Andi, Mars and I get some good 60’s cartoon / godzilla youtubing done before some  hangout time with the Mondays, who are celebrating not being in Anaheim. Loving those guys! The show is good tonight but I’m very ready for the day off tomorrow. This seven day run has been brutal on sleep patterns and general health. Too much and not enough all at once. We’re all feeling it. So when the bus rolls east at 1.15am I am desperate to sleep and awake in Vegas for a full day of doing nothing. Some things never go to plan.
