today was good. good people. good sounds. good performances. good food, even. actually i may have to upgrade to great but i prefer the sound of good. I love this part of the recording process – everything is open right now and I get to sit around and listen to my favourite players doing what they were born to do. Neal worked some real magic today including a beautiful Favour that fell right in between Van Halen and Tusk and a newly rearranged Colder that finally feels right to my ears. natural. We tracked 5 songsbetween 11 and 10pm: Colder (retaken because the tape ate the work last time), Confessed Again, All in Favour, Desert Heights and Sign of Life… they all sound very serious but they just want to love you. So there you have it – a Gorditos burrito, some low lighting, a visit from Si and Max and some champagne. that’s the way…
